Susan focuses on helping financial advisors define a comprehensive and consistent client experience and then market that experience in clear, client-friendly language. She is committed to helping our clients respond with confidence to that key question, “How are you different?” She also guides them in areas such as business planning & implementation; team development; and business model transitions.
Having begun her financial services career as a Financial Advisor with Dean Witter in St. Louis in 1984, Susan was assistant branch manager for seven years before partnering with another financial advisor to build a successful team. After joining Prudential Securities in 1997, she served as branch manager in Knoxville, TN, and complex manager in Destin/Pensacola, FL. She helped start the Practice Management Consulting Group at Wachovia Securities after the merger with Prudential, and later became Director of Financial Advisor Best Practices. She was Managing Director of the Practice Consulting Group at Loring Ward prior to launching Pathfinder in 2009.
Susan holds a B.A. in Education (French & English) from The University of Akron and M.A. in Biblical Studies from Covenant Seminary. She earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 1987 and the CKA® in 2017.
Active in the Financial Planning Association and her church, Susan also volunteers as a regional director for Delta Gamma Fraternity, overseeing collegiate chapters and alumnae groups in 6 states plus the District of Columbia.
Susan and her husband live in Knoxville near our son, daughter-in-law, and two very special grandchildren.
Adam Kornegay’s areas of expertise include business vision, strategy and implementation, client advice process and service standards, client data analytics, and marketing communications and strategies. In addition to coaching individual advisors and teams, he leads our group coaching programs, including the Family Teams Summit and the development of our online courses for financial advisors.
Having begun his career at Experian, the global information and analytics company, Adam spent over ten years primarily as a senior strategy consultant helping major financial institutions manage their credit risk policies using credit scores and strategies. Adam co-founded Pathfinder in 2009 after three years as a Financial Advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors where he helped his $1.3 million team create a more comprehensive, consistent client experience. He is active with the Financial Planning Association at national and local levels. He serves on the Board of Directors for the East Tennessee chapter as Director of Membership and leads their bi-monthly practice management roundtables.
Adam holds a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Registered Corporate Coach™ with the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches.
He and his wife live in Knoxville, Tennessee with their two children. He loves rooting for the Chicago Cubs, relaxing in the Smoky Mountains, and playing percussion at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church
Jane believes that effective communication, relationship management and getting things done are the most important factors to successful professional relationships.
Bringing a wealth of organizational and operational knowledge as well as 22 years of industry experience to our team, Jane joined Pathfinder in September 2016 and manage the marketing and social media for our business.
Before retiring from Morgan Stanley, she was the registered marketing director for a top, multi-advisor team in their downtown San Diego branch. Her ability to recognize client operational needs before problems arose and troubleshoot efficient solutions resulted in the superior level of service our clients came to expect and led to her leadership role on the team and at the firm.
Jane lives in beautiful San Diego with her husband Wes, and enjoys their children, their wonderful grandchildren, and their many dogs!
